Our infrastructure, unfiltered

Our infrastructure, unfiltered Back to blog

We often talk about what Lockystar protects. Today, we want to talk about how we work.

A company asking you to trust it with the protection of your files should be able to explain how it operates itself.

Our infrastructure, unfiltered

Our servers run on Linux. Our email is managed internally. So is our cloud. No Gmail, no Google Drive, no Office 365. Not because those tools are bad, but because we cannot promise digital independence while entrusting our own data to companies whose business model relies on exploiting it.

Technology choices built to last

Our development relies on open-source technologies, chosen for their robustness and longevity. Our processing server is written in Rust, a modern language known for its safety, and for us a forward-looking choice rather than the easiest one.

Data sobriety is not just a slogan

We process and store as little data as possible. Not because we are forced to, but because we decided it was the right thing to do. It is an environmental choice: less data means less energy consumed. It is also the best defence against the attacks making headlines every week: data we do not hold cannot be stolen from us.

Consistency is built over time

Our hosting is currently in France, with Azure. Yes, that is Microsoft. It is not our final destination: migration to a sovereign French hosting provider is underway. Consistency is built over time, not overnight.

That is also what Lockystar is about. Made in France. Your data, your rules.
